1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ChitNotes website and mobile application (together, the "Service"), operated for chit fund businesses. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
ChitNotes is cloud-based software that helps chit fund businesses manage chit groups, subscribers, ticket assignments, auctions, collections, receipts and reports. The Service is a record-keeping and management tool for your business — it does not itself operate, guarantee, or take any legal or financial responsibility for the chit funds you run.
3. Accounts & eligibility
To use the Service you must register a business account with accurate information, including a valid mobile number. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be authorized to act on behalf of the business you register.
4. Subscription plans & fees
Access to the Service requires an active subscription plan. Current plans and pricing are published on our Pricing page. Fees for the Monthly plan are billed in advance for each billing period and processed through our third-party payment gateway, Cashfree. 5. Free trial
New business accounts may be eligible for a one-time Free Trial (currently 3 months at no cost). The Free Trial may be used once per business account. We may modify or withdraw the Free Trial offer for new accounts at any time.
6. Your responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the group, subscriber, auction and collection information you enter into the Service.
- You are solely responsible for how you conduct your chit fund business, including collecting funds from your own subscribers, complying with any laws or regulations that apply to chit funds in your jurisdiction, and any disputes with your subscribers.
- You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could harm the Service or other users.
7. Your data
Data you enter into the Service (business, subscriber, group and transaction records) belongs to you. We process it to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Each business account's data is kept separate from every other business account.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and branding, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service — only a limited right to use it in line with these Terms.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control.
10. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any losses connected to the chit fund business you operate using the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if these Terms are violated, or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time; see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for what happens to fees already paid.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
